So we all know that Lionel has been messing up the paint colors on basically everything that is not black......

So when I picked up my Spokane Portland & Seattle NW-2 switcher....I was very, very disappointed with it. A fellow SP&S collector and a good friend was also disgusted with it. After a long bashing of our new and poorly painted locos. I said I would repaint them both.

2 years go by and I finally cleared enough room on my desk for a paint project. It ended up being about a 2 month turn around (because of life). I was very happy with the final results. The finished loco pictured is my friends and mine was going to have extra road specific details added later.

Paint brand I used is “TruColor Paints” sprayed with Tamiya Flat Clear.

Bruk,

Back in the day, I used to do quite a bit of custom painting in HO Scale for my self and several clients.   Used to have 4 or 5 eight-foot tables at train shows every weekend during model railroad season.  That being said, I must commend you on a remarkable job!   The locomotives are just plain gorgeous!  You are a very talented young man indeed.

Spectacular results.  Wow!!!   You gave the bodies a bath in what to remove the old finish.  Looks like it dissolved.  And the aluminum of the window frames. Did you paint them with an air brush?

Window frames were painted with a brush, I used 91% Alcohol to strip the shells with a tooth brush.

I need your address, I have a Legacy Reading Trainmaster that's totally the wrong color, I'd like to fix that.

Send me an email at some point if you are really interested. I don’t plan on doing these repaints for everyone. I barely have time to paint my own stuff let alone solder wires to a light bulb 😪

Well, I was only half serious.  Don't get me wrong, there are several things I'd like to repaint.  However, I'll save any favors for something more important.   Someday I'll deal with these, right now I want to continue on my layout build.
