Hi guys

i was really hoping that when Lionel announced their new scale auto racks last year, that these 86' auto parts cars would soon follow. Glad to see I was right!

Anyway, the thing that really caught my attention from a 3RS point of view was this part of the description...  "Draft gear adapter bracket included to support Kadee® coupler mounting" Now of all the cars I've had to fight, drill, tap, or modify to add Kadee's to, The Lionel cars were the WORST.  I don't know if it was because of their 22" length or just that they were all new tooling, but it's nice to see "Big L" thinking of things from a 2 rail (or 3RS) perspective for a change.

Has anyone else seen any of Lionel's other, newer models? Are they any easier to work with from a 3RS perspective?

I personally would like to see "Built by Lionel" and the build date stamped/printed on the bottom of the car. This would be a nice feature for all of the manufacturers to include the built date on the bottom of the car. There has been numerous times over the years especially on the MTH & Atlas O rolling stock that I wanted to know when the item was built and that info is usually not on there products. IMO!!

I agree.

This would also benefit in tracking any issues to specific dates. It is so easy and almost cost nothing to stamp date or batch # on ALL of their product. I have to "assume" their a good reason for them not to do it and it is not related to only cost.
