Hello, All!

I’m testing an engine for a fellow club member (it’s the SP Cab Forward from 2005), and everything worked perfectly on it except the motor.  I took it apart and tried to get some life out of the motor, both with a 9v battery (per the Lionel trouble shooting guide) and directly hooked up to a couple MRC Tech II DC transformers, but I couldn’t get a wink of life out of the thing.  I just wanted to make sure I’m not missing anything on my testing procedures before I recommend a $50 replacement motor to the client (thankfully Lionel still has them in stock).

I know that this guide mentions using diodes with an AC transformer to run the motor in a test setup, but I find it hard to believe that I can’t get ANY movement out of this thing with an N/HO transformer - let me know what you think, and I really appreciate your time!
