This layout plan updates Lionel's D-131 display layout with Fastrack and some modern ideas. It begins with the two loops of the D-131, but with Fastrack at O-36 and O-48 diameter curves, adding crossovers between the two loops with high-speed O-60 turnout pairs. A passing track and station are added and an industry spur. A second industry spur is added to service Menard's Morton Salt tower and Lionel's coal loader.
Other traditional accessories are included from the D-131: the operating cattle pen, the milk can unloader, and the rotating beacon. A freight station or other industry is served by the On30 narrow gauge loop replacing the small mountain loop and trestle of the D-131, which uses Kato HO Unitrack (but another track could be substituted) of 17" radius at 6" elevation.
