I had a post about the start of this project......but seems I can't find it.

It started with this.....

PASS1

A MTH 64 foot wood passenger car body only. I got a set of 3 of them off ebay for cheap to kitbash.

The Atlas truck are not really good passenger car trucks....but work for me!

Here is the basic frame I built. Sheet plastic and shapes. The steps are from Bowser/Shelly.

Tonight I designed and printed some stained glass windows for use in the passenger car.

They will go in the restroom and behind the wood stove.  I drew them in CorelDraw and printed them on clear .010 plastic.

I am finishing up the paint and making the interior seats etc right now. A few days I'll do final assembly.

Thanks

First round of final assembly is complete.  A few details to add like stove stack but those go on last. I didn't have any painted seated figures and was impatient so I'll add them later if I feel the need. I lightly sanded the body to soften the factory tampo printing, Duplicolor great primer sealer. Tamiya Camel Yellow and bright silver for colors.

My original idea was to shorten it up to 50 ft for a more backwoods look....but that kept me from doing anything....so just made it a simple project that I could finish while I recuperate. Detail is very simple and very rugged. I like stuff that I can run without worry. Decals up next!!! Thanks

Got the passenger car pretty much complete today. I may hit it with some dull coat but decals and paint need to cure for a week or two. Not much weathering will be done....this is the pride of Black Creek. Installed green clear sheet stock in clerestory windows....but had to see. End rails made from brass in a jig I made. Couplers are NOS Walthers cast. I am pretty happy for the amount of cash and effort put into it. Now to find a caboose to repaint in BCR&W colors. Thanks

True.........The ALPS was bought the first day they became available.  So after many personal and commercial projects....it has more then paid for itself. If I could I'd buy a new one today......oh well.....

And I started on CorelDraw 3 and have upgraded every version.......which is MUCH cheaper than buying full version X5!!

And as a decal artist with 100's of different kits with my decals.....it's all a blur now!!!

The dozen windows I printed is a drop in the bucket compared to many 'proofs' I have to do for commercial sets!!

But yes......I am blessed to have the tools!
