Dear Alan Arnold

I have the entire collection of the OGR produces layout videos 1-13 and enjoyed them all. My personal favorite is # 11 featuring the Bill Bramlage and Bob Bartizek layouts ( I consider myself very fortunate to have visited both and consider Bob and Bill as friends in my extended O-Gauge family ).

OGR had not produced a video in some time. With you as the Editor and now at the helm, is OGR going to continue with producing layout videos? Its been over a year since you released a video with new material.

Hoping our fellow forumites can chime in here and encourage the continued production of new videos.  Appreciate you all chiming in here and B.T.W. what is the favorite OGR video. For me as I mentioned above it was #11, and I have watched it countless times

Steve

I vote affirmative in wanting more home layout videos. We learn so many new ideas and get so much information from our fellow Modelers. Bill Bramlage and Bob Bartizek, Gayle Roching, and others in the Cincinnati area have great Model railroads are are good friends.  I too have all the videos... Hopefully Alan and crew will look into this side of the hobby...

Steve, we produced TWO new videos this year! "Steamed" and "Timeless Treasures" are both featured on our home page at ogaugerr.com. How did you miss them?

You addressed your post to Alan, but he doesn't produce the videos, I do. We might produce more, but from a strictly business standpoint we probably shouldn't. They simply don't sell in enough quantities to offset the production costs.

If the six of you who have posted in this thread could convince about a thousand other people to buy a disc, then we could produce more.

Rich, I stand corrected I have those videos, picked them up at York. My point was really aimed at the series "GREAT LAYOUT ADVENTURES" and hopefully they continue. I as most of here on the forum understand that the OGR product is a FOR PROFIT entity and sorry to hear the videos are not as profitable as you would like. Its not from a lack of subject matter to support new videos as there are thousands of really nice layouts as well as some outstanding clubs to continue to harvest new material

If you have not yet purchased any of the OGR videos they will make a really nice Christmas gift to yourself. Me personally in seeing these layouts and meeting the owners, help me expand my O-Gauge horizon and depth in the hobby.

Hopefully we get enough response here to urge Rich to keep producing videos. Your responses here will help

THANK YOU RICH !.!.!.!.!.!.!

Maybe you can make these downloadable videos to cut some costs out      Wouldnt have to worry about duplicating and packaging

Somehow, I think the "duplicating and packaging" portion of DVDs is the least costly of the whole project. Just look at the expense & time involved traveling around the country in order to video these various layouts, then the extensive studio time spent editing/producing these.

I also have all 13 volumes and would buy #14 if it gets made. I think they are well done and I enjoyed them all. I would have to look at them to see which one is my favorite but #11 definitely ranks up there.

Incidentally, I did purchase both of the new videos but unfortunately for me my BR player broke and I threw it out not realizing that my copy of Timeless Treasures was inside it. So at some point between now and the next York I will purchase a second copy.

Sidebar: I just recently found out that if you have Amazon Prime you can watch a whole bunch of TM Videos even the newest one 21st Century Layouts Part 2. What I don’t understand is wouldn’t putting their programming on Amazon cause them to lose sales?

Just wanted to add my vote of support on the videos. They're great.

I've had some health/stress related issues the past year and found that the Great Layout Adventures series were fantastic for relaxing and healing. They're very well produced and are engaging in perfect way. I think that Rich Melvin is the narrator and he does a great job. He seems perfect for this. I've bought and watched all 13.

The one thing I did have to do was rip them to digital format so I could watch them on tablet. Might be cool if there were a way to watch them that way from the get go. I know combating piracy and maintaining revenue is hard and it sounds like things are already tight in that area.

Curious as to what else is out there in similar format\depth? Someone mentioned the TM videos.

I'll go see if I can find 1000 friends and talk them into buying as well.

I would like to see the OGR Videos make a new version about MTH - DCS with the latest on MTH • Wi-Fi.  When Ken from Trainworld / Trainland interviewed Mike Wolf on their live Facebook tour of the China factory.  Mike talked about hooking up with the OGR to make a video about MTH - DCS, Wi-Fi.  Is this deal on or off? or in the works?

I have the DCS Video Guide and still find it helpful.
