Passenger Car - Disassembly

Just take appropriate screw drivers to it. Everything will be readily apparent as you disassemble. It will go back together in reverse order.

I'm not at all being flippant, but it should be relatively simple for you to do. I would think the lighting part would be more complex.

My RK cars have 4 or 6 screws from the bottom. Then twist the car a little to pop the roof.This is one I changed to leds using @Gunrunnerjohn’ s module. Screws are on each end.

Here is the single screw variant- slightly turn the truck to one side to expose the single screw hidden under the coupler arm.

And yes, the roof still is a twisting motion of the car relative to the roof to get it to pop out.

Thanks...I did not know about that twisting maneuver.

Do the twist over a table or bench with perhaps a towel on it, sometimes the roof travels quite a distance!

Al, Looks like the same cars I'm working on.     I've attached some photos of my install.   Note -  The screws set deep are the ones to take out to remove the roofs.   The screws set shallow are holding in the floor of the car.

In one of the photos you can see the two clips per side of the roof that holds the roof to the body.  Note -  The observation car has three screws holding the roof to the body.
