Does anyone with one of the new PFE Sound Reefer sets have a scale boxcar the size of the impending Railway Express Scale Sensor Car that could post a picture of the two cars side by side? I'm trying to see how they might look next to each other. I was hoping for the traditional sized sensor car but that of course was cancelled.

I don't believe they've hit the dealers yet, so I doubt anyone has a picture yet either.
Are you looking for the Visionline PFE Refer set #2 6-83545 or the Sante Fe Reefer 6-83549 - # Pack Sets as they are the exact same as last years just different road names and number? I just go mine today. I did not order the Railway Express Scale Sensor Car so I can't help on that front - Maybe contact the folks at Lionel directly or ask Marty or Alex - they along with John are great sources of information.

I didn't think they had. I was more interested if anyone had a Visionline PFE reefer set 6-83545 and a reefer they knew was the same as the reefer body Lionel was using for the sensor car 6-83519. In looking over the forum more I found another thread (https://ogrforum.com/t...suppose-to-represent) where someone suggested the PFE Visionline sound reefer was the same mold as the sensor car. In that case I might be in for a sensor car. I just got the PFE sound reefer set myself. I don't have a sensor track yet but this might be what pushes me over the edge if they are the same reefers.
I have the vision line cars, actually two sets so I could have two sound cars. I have on order a sound car and a couple of sensor cars, but they haven't arrived yet. Both the PFE VL reefer and the sensor car are scale cars, so I'd expect them to be the same size, if not the same molds.
What does the sensor car do?
You run it behind a non-sensor equipped locomotive and it gives you the sensor capability. You can use it with TMCC or Legacy, though with TMCC it doesn't have some of the features that it does with a Legacy locomotive.

Thanks GRJ. Based on that I just hit the preorder button on one. I don't have any legacy engines yet, much less legacy with a sensor built in. And the REA refrigeration should go well with the 3 PFE refrigerated reefers I just got for the sound car.
