Hi all:

I only run a 4x8 carpet layout with legacy. I power the layout with a Z-1000 hooked up to Legacy. This type of transformer is extremely powerful for such a small layout.

My question is:

When I run my Legacy E6 I have the voltage on the Z-1000 set to full throttle. This isn't a Z-4000 so I have no way of knowing if the voltage is set at 18 volts. Is the voltage at 18 when set to full throttle or should I turn it down a bit before it hurts the Legacy electronics.

I have heard stories of guys busting their engines with too high of a voltage and just want to make sure that at full throttle the Z-1000 isn't putting out more than 18 volts.

Thanks!

Sorry if I am not being clear!

I too had worried that I might be putting too much power to the track.
So I recently purchased a multi-meter and was surprised to see that many of my xformers weren't even putting out 18v at full throttle.
My PWC ZW (2 135w bricks) puts out 17v on the large A & D handles and 15v on the B & C outputs.
My CW-80's each put out 14v at max throttle.
