After joining the pieces of track together I see a minor gap between rails created by the track pins. The pins have a very small flange. Do you guys stop there or do you force it together?

I left the gap, i didn't see the need to force the rails to eliminate the gap.
That's what I was thinking too! I like the track and can't wait to order their switches.
Wait a minute - Charlessp34 - are you the same that used to visit the chat room way back in time, and, when you say Ross track, you talking Gargraves or the Ross Tinplate?
I bought some Ross Tinplate that quite frankly has become a pain the rear for me ... right now I am trying to learn how to use SCARM so I can figure how how to cut track to fit in the Ross Tinplate #4's, and then I need to figure out how to connect those little pigtails on the DZ-1000's so they won't be snagged. I run on the basement floor and will probably be for ever. Maybe we should do a trade for your K-Line switches .... if you have a layout on a table top. I personally would not suggest Ross Tinplate for floor running.
I've never entered a chat room so that wasn't me. I recently received an order of Ross tinplate track for my table layout. As I said earlier, I like it! I will keep you in mind if I decide to sell the switches only. Right now I'm trying to sell the package deal.
I have two left and two right.
What is funny is I made a mistake in ordering and ordered 4 of the same, and Steve caught it. In retrospect, it might have been better to get four of one kind. Just trying to get interchange between loops, and getting those things to fit some place where nobody will walk on them, not near the window (in case of a fire in the basement, and not under a shelve or bench is harder than I thought when I impulse bought them.
The K-line give me problems. I have an early Lionel SD-90 and it has problems on the K-Line switches unless i relegate it to the outer loop. Then I need the hand-of-god to change engines instead of just running it to the switch yard I set up. I think its those blind inner wheel setup that ironically allow it to navigate O-31 switches.
If the Ross track is like Gargraves track I would not worry about a small gap near the track pins. Make sure that when you cut the track to size that you file off any small metal pieces that might be left over and stick up and cause a derailment.
Also I highly recommend using insulated pins, item # 903, from Gargraves or Ross with either type of track. I have found that rail alignment is crucial with Gargraves track, so that is why I use insulating pins.
At first I cut down some K-Line insulating pins for S gauge track and using them for Gargraves track until Gargraves started selling insulated pins.
