Just wondering how many Legacy users run sepetate loops?

How do you find switching from train to train.

Reason I am asking is I just purchased the Legacy System.

Maybe it's me but I find the Handheld controller a little big and hard to see.

Right now I and running 4 sepetate loops running all Lionchief Plus engines. I find these handheld controllers easy to use. I Velcro the controllers to front of train table so the act like a transformers hand throttle.  I also can use these as a hand help walk around controller if I want to.

Thinking about giving up on the Legacy System. Maybe I got spoiled and used to the Lionchief controllers.

Suggestions and comments please.

Run the Legacy, you can run all the trains with the one handheld at the same time...as well as switches, etc. I have 4 loops and running trains on all of them and switching from loop to loop makes great play value. When other folks are running too, you can mess with their engines with the one handheld .

Don't have any LionChief engines, did give some sets away as gifts. The Legacy hand held is not really an ergonomic piece, guests like the TMCC Cab-1 design better.

If all you run are LionChief engines, which cannot be controlled via the Cab-2, it seems useless unless you purchase some TMCC/Legacy units or have friends who own some and bring them over to run.

Should have explained. I do have 1 legacy engine.

The Legacy controller,  I find it a little annoying looking a the function screen. A little big as well.

I understand the huge difference between Legacy and Lionchief, I get it.

Just looking for someones view on switching between engines on sepetate loops.

It seems running trains on 4 sepetate loops, looking down at the legacy controller, trying to switch to a different engine would be a little aggravating??!?

I was hopeing to go all Legacy and replace my Lionchief setup. I like the idea of the legacy controller being something new and interesting but after using it I was a little annoyed.

I only have 2 loops, but it's pretty easy to switch engines with a Legacy system. Just do as cjack says above. Many people use the last two digits of the engines's road number for their Legacy engine number so all you have to do is look at the engine to see what number it is. Don't even have to remember the engine numbers.

The icons on the Legacy remote may take a little while to get used to, but it isn't hard to do, After using it for a while the ones you use the most will become automatic. Just play with it for a while and you will learn it's features. The manual also helps while learning.

The remote stores the last 2 engine addresses and you can toggle back and forth.

If you program 2 of them as Trains (single engine or multiple units), then you can toggle back and forth between trains as well. Therefore, by pushing the TR button, or the ENG button, you would have relatively easy control of 4 trains without much effort or button pushing.

If that is still too much, then put ENG 99 in the remote and run them all simultaneously.

I dont see what there is to justify. You now have one device that did what 4 remotes used to do (plus a heck of a lot more) and you've stated that you couldnt hold all 4 of those in your hands either.
