I am sorry to read that Weaver Models is closing up shop. About 20 years ago Weaver sold their EMD E8 dies to MTH. Maybe MTH could purchase from Weaver the dies for the Baldwin Sharknose passenger diesels. No other company has ever made these models in 3 rail 0 however since only the Pennsylvania Railroad had this model MTH might be reluctant to purchase the dies unless they would issue them in various road name models. Let's see if MTH or another company makes it happen.

I assume you want three rail, as this is the three rail forum. But if you will take one in 2 rail, which you would then have to convert, contact me off list. As an added bonus, it already has DCS installed.  Mine is an A unit only, Tuscan, five stripe.

Also for 2 rail there were other brass models imported such as New Jersey International and a kit from Locomotive Workshop.

Williams also made a nice Sharknose not too long ago in plastic.

Williams, Weaver, MTH and Lionel have all made the FREIGHT version of the Sharknose.  The Weaver brass passenger shark is a different animal altogether.

Oops. Yeah, I forgot about those very looong BP-20 versions that the Pennsylvania used for passenger service. Very uncommon model, in every scale.

Nice to see you here, Bill Paul.

Bill is a noted collector of older 2-rail.

I am going to suggest without proof that if you want to buy/sell 2-rail this area of the forum is in fact noticed by 2-railers.  The "Buy-Sell" forum is geared for 3-rail, and I never go there - I suspect other 2- railers are the same.  A dedicated 2-rail buy/sell/wanted might get our attention.

Love the look of those Baldwin Sharknose diesels!

I know the Baldwin diesels had some issues but I really like the looks and wish some western roads had purchased a few.  Love to have a D&RGW sharknose in black with the gold stripes.

Also, I knew of the 4-wheel truck freight version and the Centipedes, but was unaware of the BP-20 passenger version.  Thanks for the pics!
