OK here's a dumb question. I have a lion-chief set the way that works is there is an ac adapter that plugs into the wall then into the fastrack. is there any other track i can use this with since fastrack does not look real.

LionChief engines work on any 3 rail Ogauge Track with a constant voltage of 14 to 18 ac or dc. I've actually run with less but I'm not sure if that might harm the engine. So yes you can use any transformer or power supply with a constant voltage between the 14 - 18 range.
By the way I believe the wall wart that comes with the LionChief Ready to run sets is 18 volts DC
