I am looking for a couple of light bulbs like the one shown. It came out of
a station platform that had german signs so I am guessing german. Any ideas?

Some in-focus pictures would help a bunch.
its my phone, i cannot figure out how to focus it
your too close to the bulb when you take the picture move back up a bit and it will probably be clear photo!
you may have to zoom in a couple of times!
at a minimum give us the bulb number on the brass side every bulb usually has a black number inked on the brass base!
Ok, took it out in bright sunlight with a magnifying glass, no numbers.
Here are some clearer photos
email Jeff kane at jeff@ttender.com may take a bit but he will get back to you, or email it then call him at 585-229-2050
Looks like an E10 base and G4 1/2 shape probably at 14V and therefore a standard #430 lamp and very available through standard parts suppliers.
Here is a 430 in proportion with your mystery bulb:
#430 Miniature Bulb full Specs
E10 Base
14 Volt
0.25 Amp
3.5 Watt
G-4 1/2
C-2R Filament Design
250 Average Rated Hours.
1.06" (26.90mm) Maximum Overall Length (M.O.L.)
0.55" (14mm) Maximum Outer Diameter (M.O.D.)
0.72" (18.30mm) Light Center Length (L.C.L.).
Similar bulb at different voltages are available:
#432 - 18V
#428 - 12.5V
When all else fails, you can change the sockets over to a modern known thread. If the station does not hold a great collector value, that's what I would do.
It possibly is what Bmoran4 shows, but the threaded base looks smaller than the 430. I might be wrong, and it could be a L1447(R) which would be a Red bulb.
The bulb does so evidence of being red. Hmm, why would you need a
red light on a station platform??
The 1447 has a smaller globe size - G3 1/2 - which is seemingly too small for the rulered images above.
The red bulb is not likely the original for a station platform. A common 430 as BMORAN stated will work just fine.
I live in a hobby deprived area, does anyone have any suggestions about where to
get these various bulbs? To be continued...........
Generally speaking, Lionel's bulbs overlapped the automotive industry and so there are a few available at your local auto parts supplier. However the #430 doesn't fall into that niche and so you are not likely to find locally. Your best bet is to find something online. The suggestions above of Jeff Kane at the Train Tender would have them, as well as many of the other hobby suppliers.
Any name or markings on the platform? perhaps a photo of the platform?
What voltage to you want to use to power it?
Town & Country Hobbies has them in 14v and 18v and the base type.
