Steve,
I am blown away by the trackside urban scenes. Absolutely fantastic modeling.

Half hidden on my layout is a new vignette of three backwoods moonshiners. I like the whimsical and this cast resin “still” fits that bill nicely.
Another 1/3 of the Beer train. We only ran 2 hours this evening and reality sunk in. There just wasn't enough time to setup, run, photograph, and put away the whole consist today. Sunday is 6 hours, more than enough to make it happen. For now....
This was my Lionmaster N&W A leading the consist today.....

SIRT, others are good, others are great, but you're the best! You're buildings cry out "STAPLETON!" When are you going to model The Paramount?
During the 1980s, "Old Man" Malloy, then No. 1 Locomotive Engineer on the roster, told me that he'd been one of those hired to "mix" the concrete for those structures. Dry ingredients were dumped into the forms, water was added, then a team of young men in hip waders, including Harold, descended into the forms with instructions to stomp around for a while. The process was repeated until the supports were completed, then precast sections were set in place using a rail-mounted crane, the track for which was built as they went along.
That's nice Scott!
I'm still waiting for it in blue
Or a different green lol
Scott.smith, do you have, by any chance, a track plan for the layout at the VMT or any pics that would show more of the layout?

The track plan was done on paper over 20 years ago. There is a video on one of the Great Layouts You can Visit Series. A few moths back I posted a lot of pictures featuring each section of Weekend Photo Fun.
Bruce VinceletteLionel Baldwin Sharknose, New York Central, LEGACY, A-B-B-A diesel set. Impressive RailSounds package and smooth runner, I do not have a LEGACY
Control System, and used my TMCC set up so could not activate all the
features. The powered A and B are quite the pullers. I had the ODYSSEY
II set at 100 speed steps with low momentum. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Nice job. A couple of questions:
1. Where'd you get the MARS Light?
2. Is that a 3rd Rail or Lionel engine?
3. How did you tie it into the circuit?
Now that my 3rd Rail H1 is out of warranty, I'd like to replace the MARS light with something more realistic.

Matt,
Answers to your questions:
1. The MARS light is included when you buy the NKP 765 Steam Locomotive
2. This is a Lionel engine and is their newest rendition of the 2-8-4 Berkshire. What differentiates this model from the prior Legacy version (at least the most noticeable update) is the inclusion of Lionel's whistle smoke functionality.
3. Lionel includes a separate wiring connection within the boiler, so in theory all you have to do is connect the MARS light to the pre-installed circuitry. I used Eric Siegel's prescribed methodology of installation.
Hope this helps.
Michael
If you check on Eric Seigel's You Tube page he shows you how to install the Mars light.
Here's another one. Really needs to have friction bearing trucks, for which an order has already been placed
Had to wait for the satellite TV tech to get here this morning, but I did eventually get down to the club. One of our members brought down his new toy, the Sunset 3rd Rail GM Train of Tomorrow. Seeing this train up close and personal, I can tell you that photos don' t do it justice. It's beautiful, runs nicely, and has very good sound.
A very nice touch is the Kadee coupler mounted in the observation car.
I also got a chance to put my recently acquired Geep 30u project onto the layout for some testing. #2736 is the powered unit while #2771 is non powered, but will get lighting and will ultimately be the lead unit of the pair. I also labeled 2736 for Barstow and 2771 for San Bernardino, even though the research I've been able to dig up is that they were upgraded out of Cleburne, TX.
Lastly, some more scenery work has been done in the On30 area. The small dirt-covered hill top is actually an access hatch.
If you look carefully, you can see the line for the removable portion of the hill. This will be hidden by additional scenery.
Matt - I guess you couldn't see, but they are the small 3450 Class Santa Fe Hudsons from PRB around 2000, (very similar to the 3400 Class Pacifics).
Just noticed that access hatch, nicely done.
A Santa Fe Pacific with the very neat LFM drivers, you can see how similar they are.
Nice one Eric!
A few pics from the last several weeks of train running at AGHR! Both my daughter and my son are enthusiastic ogaugers (at least for now, while Dad is still cool )
