Well you choice of trucks (two) limits you to three body styles: Box car #820 (five different versions); Cattle car #821; Caboose #822 (two versions).

They (bodies not versions) all show up regularly at train meets.

Enjoy,

I see a lot of the early passenger cars laying around but haven't seen any freight anywhere, any suggestions?

Yeah, the hopper is so nice it would look out of place with my other freights of that series. Almost looks like a repro right out of the box.

I think the $45 for the caboose is right on the edge of what I can afford, they all look outstanding though!

Yes, Ray @ Vienna Station just updated his inventory list today. Still 820s listed there.

Brian,

Got to tell ya Steve's prices are not out of line, $45.00 is about the medium price for a lot of the used Tin rolling stock here in the Pittsburgh, Pa area.  Most of the older Tin in prime shape is going for much more, between $125.00 - $225 depending on the

condition and individual piece you are trying to acquire.  Here we do find Tin Rolling stock at most every train show, some of it is in really prime condition.

I picked up this PreWar Lionel Tin Plate Spotlight Car at one of the trains shows here in Monroeville, Pa, because of her condition I payed more than $45.00 for her, that is for sure.  You will find with the PreWar Tin you have to pay a little more for original rolling stock in prime condition.
