I just bought a used PS3 Railking Genesis engine to use as a chassis for my older PS1 earlier generation Genesis. I was concerned that tthe shells were not interchangeable because they were listed as different sizes:
Engine 1
15 1/4" x 2 1/2" x 4 1/16
Engine 2
14 7/16 x 2 1/2 x 3 5/8
What I discovered is the engines and shells are identical in size. The only difference is the top one, PS3, has more lighting, which I am going to try to add to the bottom one by drilling a few holes in the shell where they belong and gluing the lights.
Why would MTH list these as different sizes? In fact, I found another Genesis that had yet another size description. Has anyone else seen this in the same MTH products from different years? It's confusing when you are trying to line up parts to create something unique and different. In my case, I love my Genesis set but it wasn't PS3. Now it is

My other project will be to change the audio MP3 on the PS3 to a Texas Eagle download I got from a Premier Genesis so it is not making a northeast announcement. Any tips are welcomed and appreciated.
