im feeling the need to expand my o gauge. Right now ive got a reverse L of 4x8 plywood, adding at least 29inches to the lower end, possibly 12 inches to the top half, as seen in pic. Is 77 adequate to run 072 fastrack, I can squeeze in a bit more if needed. I could run it beyond that stud. Wanting to add a tunnel on top half and trestle somewhere in between. Any suggestions, ideas? I have tons of track, wish I had more space! Thanks for the look! AL

Hi Al, I started out twenty some years ago with a 8 by 4 rectangular table. Then a year later a friend talk me into going bigger. Than I expanded to an L shape lay out. One L measured 16 feet total other L measured 16 feet . Now twenty some years later I just added two more outside track loops around the perimeter. Much more fun. I now can run large big boy type engines on outside loops.

Al , the bottom line is go as big as you can with the space that is available. You won’t regret it. Have fun and give us updates.
77 is tight. I will measure later but I think O72 FasTrack is going to be about 77-78” outer edge to outer edge.
Yeah I was thinking, add 36 instead of the planned 29, and what’s left fits well on the other side, about 12”. One cut of the plywood! 2 4x8s seem big, in reality it’s not a great deal of space once the track is put down. I’ve just got to find a good layout now.
