Hello all, I have a 16x8 layout platform. I have all postwar lionel trains. I am just thinking of how to design the layout plan. I have lots of operating accessories, signals, etc. I have currently a Z and ZW transformers. I want all the wiring under the table. And at least 2 loops if possible. Any ideas would help. Here is a layout from Lionel's 1957 catalog. I presume you want an "L" shaped layout.
I have a rectangular layout. Hardest part is incorporating the coal ramp with 397 loader. I have train layout software on my PC. It leads me to have one loop running the perimeter of the layout with freight yards with all accessories on it.

Boring, a total waste of real estate. Look up "Thors trains" on google, lots of layouts to see.

You're off to a good start. Try to arrange your accessories so they have a reason to be.
This guy created alot of action in a small space. His accessories look like they're actually performing a continuous flow of material and goods. Here is just one of his videos from his earlier layout.
I have a similar space--a 16x9 attic room but the layout is around the wall.
