After all these years, I have finally gotten this awesome model set up with a Kadee and a bit of weathering. I may pull the plugs for the markers at some point. I popped a Lionel M1a chip in it for better sounds. Maybe I'll film a few clips tomorrow night but in the meantime i just took a bunch of quick shots with my iPad.

WOW.
Incredible !!!!!!
Norm, as always, well done.
Awe-inspiring . . . and immensely depressing.
I think I'll just burn my layout.
Hey thanks a lot you guys!

I get the point here, it does seem to get demoralizing when you see the amazing work of others and can't see how other people could possibly have the same reaction when looking at your layout, huh?
Thanks for sharing Norm, your ability to put scenes together, weather everything and have it all look like a place I drove by 25 or 30 years ago is truly impressive. The spalling concrete on that loading dock and the telephone poles painted up 8 feet from the ground !!!! Is that an old "cobblestone" street ??
Beautiful Norm. It looks like a beast. As always, your layout and details are inspiring.
Simply perfect.
All fine photos, but the interior shots of the roundhouse are superb.
BTW- can you order the Lionel M-1 sound chip from Lionel?
The engine is great. Your pics on the other hand just look too real. Makes me wonder if you found an M1 and shrunken it so you could put it on your layout.

And who says Model Railroading is not an art form? I'm waiting for the vid to be posted. Always a treat Norm!

Beautiful modelling and photography, Norm! This shot has that " drifting down horseshoe curve" kinda feel.

Great shots. I hope you do take some video tomorrow.
Dude, that looks killin'!
Norm;
Wow is right. While I agree that the roundhouse shots are incredible, my personal favorite is the second pic - you can just see yourself walking down the street and seeing the train pass by. All the more amazing that these were taken with an iPad. I am also depressed as I know I have nowhere the level of skill to approach the beautiful level of artistry and detail of your layout. Looking forward to a video.
Thanks for posting Norm. State of the art, modeling.

fantabulous!!
More magnificent work Norm! When you're done there, I need a little help. Maybe you, Dave, etc....
Again, Norm, job well done. I can almost smell the cinders. Thanks for all the pics..
Makes me want to head up to Mt Washington and take the steam driven Cog rail to the top. The steamer only makes the first run of the day. The remaining runs are done with a Mt Washington Railroad designed biodiesel engine. It's a fast clean ride, but not the fun of the steamer.
Absolutely beautiful Norm. Can't wait to see some video.
Glad you guys like. Here's a vid I shot on my iPad:
Definitely worth the wait. Fantastic!
Thanks Norm.
Norm, Exceptional work!

Great photo's Norman, you definitely have a a great vision on modeling and photography.
As they would say in the early 80's, "is it real or is it Memorex" !!!!!
Norm
'You killed it, you keep setting the bar higher for the rest of us!!

Thanks again guys. Sorry about the boom-boom chuff. Turns out I was running in 32 step mode (this still has the factory EOB). With 128 step you can start moving by hitting the boost button and it won't trigger the mega chuffs at startup.
Amazing, beautiful, simply awesome.
Excellent....nice work, Norm.
Stunning work...I'm speechless.
Really Awesome!
I also like the background buildings too! Esp. Federal Servo corp!
I need to drop in here more often, the 3 rail is off my radar screen came in to see if Scott added an update and I get a really special treat!!. I love the photos!
Yes. It is all first rate, and beautiful. I personally have trouble with the track, although it is beautifully ballasted.
Thx guys..oh and Rex, sorry must have have missed your question. Yes, you can order RS4 sound chips from Lionel. I believe there's a list on the TMCC forum someone put together on the document sticky topic. The factory EOB boards are pretty much plug and play for swapping sounds.
Amazing artistry and realism! This is more a 3-D moving work of art than a train layout. It is at a level many of us aspire to but know we can never attain. Thanks for the inspiration!
