From a forum discussion, adding buildings and terrain. Two train operation using the passing track with short trains. Has two routes: the around the perimeter "L", and the bent figure-8 through the crossing. It has two reversing loops, which allows reversing trains in either direction.

Switching possibilities, with numerous industries, room to store a number of cars, and the passing track can serves as a run-around for switching and assembling trains. Includes Mendard's lighted and detailed buildings.

I like how, to work all five spurs, a train has to traverse the whole layout twice. A sneaky way to really lengthen the run!

I wanted to see if the idea could be improved with wider turnouts. Took a lot of time trying to get an arrangement that worked.

Mainline turnouts are O60 & O48. Industry turnouts are O36. Min curve is O36.

Well, the sidings are about 75" in length. A loco, 5 cars and a caboose?

Here it is with O44 compound curves. Will likely run O42 equipment.
