A "Sound Car" | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Most of my DCC engines do not have sound. I am going to try putting a sound card in a livestock car, cut out some of the flooring, put in a good speaker with a resonator box and use Bachmann On30 caboose trucks for the electrical pick up. Has anyone else tried a similar approach?

Sure, Lionel sells sound cars for O-gauge. I suspect for ON30 you'll probably have to fabricate one. How are you going to control the sound, use a decoder in the sound car to mimic what the locomotive is seeing?

My suggestion is Soundtraxx’s sound car decoder. It works great!
