I'll take some pictures and put an offer out in the appropriate part of the forum. The cars in question are MARC "Sumitomo" cars. I don't expect to see them or even true Sumitomo models for sale in O scale again

My email is in my profile.  Send me a note.  Can't say why on this part of the forum.   As I recall, taking the comet cars apart is a part rocket science and part mysticism.

Feel free to reach out to me as well.  I recall having 3 or 4 sets of 3R Comet trucks from a while back, (have to check exactly, they are at my father's place as we prep to move).  And yes, I took one Horizon apart, and the body barely survived the encounter.  I decided that there would be no more Comet/Horizon surgery for me.
