Anyone have experience with Flexxbed ?  I am laying good old Lionel PW tubular and looking for some sound reduction without homasote, which is not available in my area. Flexxbed Classic offers 3/8 and 1/4 thickness - is one more suited to tubular for my purposes? How did you secure it to plywood ? Can I paint it in place of ballast ? Thinking of buying the sheets as well for accessories, I assume I need the same height option (3/8 vs 1/4) as I buy for track. Anyone used the sheets to make streets ? Thanks for any suggestions.

Our whole layout is done with that Vinyl "Flexxbed". It was VERY easy to work with, and provided a nice quiet base under all the Atlas track. We used 3/8" thick for the main lines and 1/4" thick for sidings, yard lead and yard tracks. Simply glued it down with TightBond Professional Wood Glue (no screws), then glued the Atlas track to the FlexxBed (again, any screws needed in curves were remove later after the glue dried).

Anyone have a phone number for Flexxbed supplier?  Website will not load.

I assume they only sell direct. Is the Woodland Scenics roadbed similar?

I have Flexxbed under my atlas track, I like it. I do believe that only sell direct. I am not sure why their website isn't working, but the phone number I have for them in my e-mails is 423-727-8000. They also have an e-mail of info@hobbyinnovations.com

I can not say for sure if the Woodland Scenics roadbed is similar since I have never used it.

I recently called Hobby Innovations ... tried to buy one length of Flexxbed to "test" it ... got some real attitude from them ... their minimum order is one case ... so they would send me one length but charge me for a case.  Did I do something wrong or is this the level of customer service to expect from them??

And after that, are you considering buying anything at all from them? I would be leery, too. Many manufacturers are willing to send small FREE samples to prospective new customers. On their website, they offer to send a sample for a small handling fee of $2 ($2.50 if PayPal).

See: <https://hobbyinnovations.com/samples>.

I wonder why they didn’t tell you this when you talked to them?
