Any way to remove smoke unit from Century Club (TMCC) Hudson??

The TMCC Hudson does not have the smoke unit diagnostics and it wouldn't be the headlight but the cab light anyways.  To me it sounds like it needs re-programmed.

Here is the list of commands to reset it.

not on this engine, but on others, I have pulled the plug on the board for the smoke unit even if there is a switch.  Sounds like your R2LC may be bad.  Could you swap it with one you know is good?

Also, you can turn off the smoke unit from the CAB-1

Aux 1>8 toggle the smoke unit off and on.

That is almost correct.

Aux1>8 turns smoke off

Aux1>9 turns smoke on

The reset WORKED!!  I saved the reset instructions for the future (practically a guarantee I will never need them again!)
