I am about to make a run to Menards in the next day or two. I plan on picking up some Homasote sheets they have in stock. Was wondering, has anybody used the product listed above for a plywood overlay? I just saw it on Menards website. It is about a third the cost of Homasote. It is SKU# 1630990. Thanks.

I have. Seems to be similar enough to Homasote as to function fairly much the same. As you pointed out; it’s a lot cheaper.

Holds screws reasonably well against lateral movement. Wouldn’t bet much on withdrawal strength.

I suspect it performs fairly similarly the same, concerning sound dampening. l top it off with  a stucco mix (also from Menards) to give it terrain variation. Adheres quite well. As does PVC, e.g. Elmer’s white glue…

Messy to cut, of course. Quite dusty.

What else would you like to know about it?
