I have atlas o track with under table switch Switch controls.  I have 4 outer parallel tracks. O-99, O-90, O-81, O-72. I have switches spaced out bcanal 4 tracks can switch between each other.   I have to separate powersupply's. 2 middle on one and 2 outers on the other. I placed insulaters in between the 2 different power supply's.   I have some dead spots on the switcheswhen trains jerk when they go over it for the spit second to pick power back up.  Just any info on wiring up these switches right and making 2 power supply's. With 4 tracks. Would be appreciated.

Thanks

You must momentarilly power the closure rails depending on which route is being travelled upon.

I just posted this very same suggestion to another member.

For twelve years now, I have used a two relay system (2 3-Pole Double Throw 3PDP) for each one of my switches.

The design functions without flaw and NEVER gets out of co-ordination with what is going on as far as which route is being used, as the relays take their cue from the wheels travelling over one closure rail which powers on the other closure rail.

You can use a slave relay that changes from Normal to Reverse when you remotely throw the switch, however...this is not absolute. If you throw the switch by hand or if the trains make a trailing move over the switch, not aligned for it, the slave relay will actually set up a condition which will cause a short circuit the instant the first wheelset travels over the powered on closure rail.

I can provide detail if you wish it.

Hope this helps!!
