Backdrop Warehouse

I recall having trouble contacting them as well. No idea what their hours are. I probably left a few voicemails and called back regularly until I finally got ahold of someone. Their website leaves a lot to be desired as well.

But I will say this, once I did have my backdrops ordered, they arrived in less than two weeks and I absolutely love them. I still haven't seen a backdrop I like more than what backdrop warehouse does.

There are much better choices out there than Backdrop Warehouse.  "Indifferent" would be the kindest thing I could say about their so-called customer service.

They are the reason Panhandle 1 never got a commercially made backdrop.

Haha, I’ve been getting slightly frustrated with the time period that I’ve used in making phone calls myself. Time will tell of which direction I’ll take, I was prepared to paint my own backdrop mural and then decided to go the backdrop warehouse route, I hope they don’t rekindle my artistic talents.  I want to start on my 2d level soon. Thanks fellas. Are there any recommendations you would like to make ?

I am a very satisfied customer of RailroadBackdrops.com.  Here's the backdrop behind the bridge just prior to installation.  It was shot on location on the Ohio River.

And after the bridge was in place.

I believe they are worth every penny.

Last year I used a backdrop from trainjunkies.com

It was just for a Christmas floor layout, but the backdrop made a HUGE difference!  There were a lot of scenes to choose from.  I thought the price was reasonable, and the product was delivered timely.  My $.02.

Greg, for me it is worth the extra effort to get him on the phone.  Best purchase I ever made.  Backdrop warehouse product is a cut above any other I have seen.

Website not so great but once you get him on the phone very helpful, and s great product.   Maybe the approach is not for everyone, but for me very helpful, and a game changer on my layout.

George, Ted, Rich, and Jason. Thank you all for your input, I will definitely look into the other sites and companies and come to a conclusion, I’m picking up a little steam on my projects and I’m happy with what I’m seeing and I’m pushing forward. I appreciate the insight and I’ll make something happen very soon. Thank you all once again.

One piece of advice on Backdrop Warehouse, note the difference in resolution between "backdrops" and "backgrounds" on their site, and if you do buy any get the ones with higher resolution. I had purchased the lesser resolution based on talking with the chap there and was disappointed, even at >6ft. distance. Maybe others wouldn't care but I like sharp resolution as possible...and was an early adapter of HD TV

Is this the same company in the above sponsor links?  I think they are "Railroadbackdrops.com" and their website looks like they have a bunch of nice stuff.   I'm going to need to eventually do this too.

Here’s an update if ever I have heard one. I called  Backdrop Warehouse to see if I could connect and I found their line busy for about 45 minutes so I figured this must be my lucky day, so I called every few minutes and finally I got thru but it was the answering machine. Lo and behold while the answering machine was doing its thing a guy picked up and flipped the script on me and told me they were constantly trying to reach me and I never responded; not the 8-9 days I had been calling to talk to the answering machine and he concluded by telling me they weren’t interested in doing business with me.  I was kind of stunned but I’ll get over it quickly. Just wanted to post an update on a bad situation. BEWARE

Hey Everyone: Thanks so much for the assistance y’all provided, it looks like “RailroadBackdrops” have garnered my attention. They appear to have what I’m looking for, so when I stop running around today, I’ll investigate a little further but I believe I’ll order with them.
