I have never had much luck with benchwork. I can measure 10 times but when I cut it's still a cr*pshoot that it will be square or level. It's not something I enjoy building. Is there any company out there other than Mianne or Siever that makes bench work kits?

Not to my knowledge, but you could always hire a carpenter, no? Probably better than one's own skills and perhaps less expensive than pre-made benchwork.
I did Siever. It was easy and accurate. Modular in a way that doesn’t require you to know just how you’re going to set it up. All holes are predrilled, etc. 1 foot centers on the 1 by 4 frame. I can easily walk on it at 185 lbs. Easy to change later as well.
I went with a Mianne kit. It worked out well for me.

If you look at Mike Wyatt's post partway down the page that Dave linked, you can see Mike's detailed description and photographs. I visited Mike's layout last fall, and it is very well done. Mike lives a couple hour's drive from me.

Tom, I see why you like Model Railroad Benchwork. I see lots of how to videos. Makes me know what I will do if I find it better to scrap my current benchwork for a new layout.
