Those of you who are CNJ fans are probably aware of the Bronx terminal. There is a fantastic HO model of this facility but I was wondering if anyone has a similar plan for 3 rail. What radius would translate to this plan and which companies turnouts would be at home. I doubt the plan would be exact but something to capture the spirit of the location would be interesting. Any thoughts?

I'm at work so I can't look it up, but isn't that the circular freight bldg in the south Bronx?
Peter
It is indeed the circular warehouse with the unusual (to say the least) track arrangement. From the drawing below, it looks like it could be roughly duplicated in 3-rail, but would take up a lot of real estate.

Any idea of how much real estate you'd need to do this in O gauge?
John.
If you were willing to limit yourself to just the circular part and shorten the sidings that emerge from it the size would not be too bad. Drawings from another site indicate the outer ring has a radius of 108 feet. That converts to 054 curves. You would have to be wiling to cut an awful lot of expensive turnouts to make this but it would be an interesting item to construct. I can just picture the MTH boxcab and a bunch of 40 foot boxcars making the rounds.
Great info on the second link Joe.
Thanks,
John.
