Catenary: When To Use It?

I have a few nice MTH and others electric engines. The lack of overhead in 3 rail does not bother me that much. I just put up a pan, and pretend there's wires, and that the center rail is not there.

Aaron, if you plan on eventually getting more electric locomotives, and like the look of the catenary and don't mind the work to install it, I would do it.

But probably not for a single electric.  Of course, steam and diesel locomotives ran under the wire too.

It also depends on how far along you are with your layout.  You might want to finish other scenery before installing catenary.

If it's the look you want, go for it.  I do plan on doing it myself.
