Home movie Christmas1954. I was 6 in 1954. I still have all the trains in the picture. Flyer 334 DC was given to me in 1950. Later this week it will make it 70th year run. All the trains run on DC. Have a Merry Christmas & stay safe.

Fantastic!!!
This is terrific - Thanks for posting and in color yet! I remember the old catalogs from 1949/50 that showed the DC models in the back with 'lightening bolts' coming out of the transformers. What was the advantage or special appeal of DC then?
Very nice... wish it was longer.

Beautiful trains and no modern high tech electronics in sight either!
Thanks for posting!
Everyone, have a Blessed Healthy Holiday Season, and remember the True meaning of Christmas too!

That's the best part!
I'm lucky enough to still have all of my original Lionel trains as well.
I love the older layouts with the Plasticville and scenery. Just fantastic!
Very nice and you didn't run them like race cars!
1954 was my first AF layout! I was five at the time and your home movie brings back fond memories of it. Thanks for posting.
Those old family movies are a time capsule. Holiday magic.
In the spirit of the OP (train1872h) and the holiday season, permit me to show from the same time period my Christmas layout of 1955 built for the most part by my father. Either I (or my nephew) still possess most all of what is in the picture. The layout ran on AC so that we could operate the Airchime whistle in the 325AC and horn in the Silver Rocket.
Thanks to train1872h for his posting. Despite the difficult times, enjoy a happy and healthy Christmas and Chanukah.

To answer c.sam's question no reverse unit. Just stop the train flip a switch an away you go. No F-N-R etc.
What a treasure! I have a few home movies from the early 60's and later, and I love 'em all. You are a very lucky lad to have such a video, and such a great Christmas memory. Thanks for posting!
