I am looking for some help from someone who has used Code 148 Micro Engineering Track and has some laying around.  I have experience using Atlas HO Flex-track but not this.

I do not have any of this track and have gone to a few hobby shops but no one stocks its.  I am thinking of getting some, but would need to buy a Bundle (6 pieces) Online.  Before I do could someone please send me a picture of the underside of the track?

I am curious about how the tie "sections" are split-up.  On Atlas 3R Flex-track there are 2 sections so about 20" each.   Also are the ties on the end "cutout" to accept joiners.  Do they have locks built in for the next piece of track to snap to?

Does Micro Engineering offer any Short Tie Sections without rail?  If not, does Atlas 2R offer something like this?

BTW does anyone know if this is readily available, being made in USA, or is it like the Atlas scenario?

Open also to any good source for this track.

Anyone that can help with this, it would be most appreciated.  Thank You.

I'll shoot some pictures later. Don't believe there are Atlas type cutouts on the ends. It's been so long since I laid it. But, you'll need a cutoff wheel and have to do some soldering. If curves are involved it can be tedious because one must secure the track to the road bed every 6 inches or foot or so. On larger gauge track I removed the rail from the ties and pre bent them with a rail bender and then reinserted the rail into the ties.

It's all fun and presents a sense of satisfaction when done.

Thank You Marty.  Just want to be sure I understand correctly, the picture shows Micro-Engineering Track not 2R Atlas, right?  Also are the ties all connected together under the rail or is there a gap at some point.  With Atlas 3R at the center of the Flex-Track piece, there is a gap where the ties are not connected.  Thanks!

Don't really need separate sale item. As you cut the track, you can slide off a few ties from your cuts and slide them on another piece of track if needed, or buy a bag of wood ties, slide them under after the fact, spiking optional (just glue em to the roadbed).

It gets made in runs. When the run goes, you have to wait until ME makes more. MicroMark is usually the best deal if you buy 3+ bundles at the same time. If you want it now and they dont have it in stock, try calling Mainline Hobby in Blue Ridge Summit, PA. They usually have a bundle or 2.
