Are you talking about something like this?

Yes, thank you.  That is much more simplistic (and cheaper) than what I had come up with.  However, it doesn't allow the consist to be longer than the center oval if it's a flat crossing.  Some pier's will take care of that issue.  I think I'll go this route instead of coming off the inner oval at the mid point of the one of the circles, going up and over the outer oval and then coming back into the side of the outer oval.

You didn’t say how big or what brand of track, so I just used FasTrack O-36. I also didn’t check center-to-center rail clearance, so if you want to pursue this, let me know.

Dave - No worries!  It was really the concept that I needed most and I was worried that if I disclosed to much information to start with it would taint possible replies.  Sometimes I get stuck into a single vision of a concept and I can't step away from it to come up with other methods.

Having said all of that, here's what I'll be working with:

Bachmann EZ Track 26" curved + 9" straight + 4.5" straight for the inner oval
Bachmann EZ Track 28" curved + 9" straight + 9" straight for the outer oval

I'm working out the sizes of the smaller curves I need for the crossing now.  It looks like I'll need two small straight pieces to accommodate the rise of the track as well.  For the piers, I'm going to use Pier Set.

I want to be able to run all of my HO Intermodal cars at once (20x 60' High Cubes, 3x 5 unit rebuilt 40' Thralls, 3x Trinity 57' 3 unit spines, 1x 53' Gunderson Maxi-IV).

I'll post a photo once I purchase the required missing pieces and get it assembled.

Not a problem, but it's a good thing you said that before I started working on an over/under configuration. You do realize this is an O Gauge forum, right? SCARM does have the track you're going to use, but I don't know anything about HO clearance requirements.

It's all good.  Yes, I do realize this is an O Gauge forum.  Maybe if I get bored one day, I'll translate the layout to O and run my small army of Husky Stacks.  The 18 piece piers set provides enough clearance for a Thrall with two high cube containers.  (I'm not to thrilled though with the 72 inches of rise on each side.)  I just finished calculating minimum requirements and such so the ovals would mate properly with the track sizes that are available to me (yes, I was paying attention in Trig).  I'm going to have about 0.3xx inches in center to center track gap that I'll need to contend with when the time comes.
