Confused about Ross Switches

I have Gargraves track and Ross switches on my layout as well.  I have always just cut a section of Gargraves curve track (I use the Gargraves sectional track) to the right size to fill in between the turnout and the rest of the curve.

There's no real set answer to this, because there are a number of variables. Some amount of straight track and at least one cut curved section will probably be required to complete the loop. Please don't rely on a computer to do this calculation for you. Maybe the best way to do this is to just get all of your pieces and lay them out, The picture as to what is needed will become clearer.

I am not all that familiar with Ross stuff, but they offer an 11 Deg and 14 Deg transition section in various lengths here: Ross Transitions. Didn't see any in 13 Deg?  If one of those won't work cutting a piece as others have stated may be the only way?

Please note:

The Ross transition pieces mentioned above are designed to bring the curved part of the switch back to parallel with the straight part of the switch.  The TR35, for example, is designed to give you 11 degrees of some unspecified curve radius that will bring the switch back to parallel with the straight part at a 3.5" center.

For what you are doing, you will probably have to cut an O-42 curve piece so that the piece you desire makes up only 13 degrees of the 45 degree arc represented by a full piece.
