Hello Friends,
I've returned to the hobby and building a mid-sized layout (12' x 15') with two main perimeter loops.  I have a few conventional locos from my childhood, but going forward plan to build a Legacy oriented control system as I build out my fleet.  I have the Base3 already.
Question:  I purchased an unopened new-in-box ZW C transformer 6-22982 at a really good price.  Is this a good combo with the Base3 for my power & control needs?  I do not have any Cab1 or Cab2 remotes yet, btw.  I've read other entries there may be compatibility issues and that the ZW L may be a better option (and much more expensive).  Ultimately, I want to build this out the right way, though.
Thanks!
Alex

There might be a problem, as you have stated. The problem is that the ZW-C will do a shut down - as if you hit the Halt function button - my misinterpreting a Legacy command. Some ZW-C's had a fix installed, others do not. Without tearing the ZW-C open to look at code level label on microprocessor IC, you just have to run and see it you get the unwanted "Halt" or not.

This thread was just posted a few days ago on this exact topic - please give it a read.
