It was neat, but I wish these and others would do some research before they edit these things, like getting the terminology correct. IE: "The train set"  , Train Table" and "I didn't know so much went into building tracks"

It really makes the hobby seem toy like, and us seam like the general morons the stereotype portrays us as...

for example, i PUT A "TRAIN SET" up around the Christmas tree,   I had a 4x8 figure 8 ho "Train Table" when I was a kid, I now am building a Train Layout, not a table or a "set"    I have never "built tracks"

Its shows like this that cause the general public to snicker and jeer when the subject of model railroading comes up.  It just happened to me this week.  I was at a surplus store looking at under counter strip lights when the guy wanted to know why I wanted so many of them.  Me, trying to explain how a double deck train layout casts a shadow on the lower level, I got this:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA  remember the Jerky boys CD when they called that guy at the toy store and asked him if he Plays with trains.......HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAH  then they said to him, do you like to drive your train in to tunnels, you know, soft  tunnels of anal flesh......  HAHAHAHAHHAHA

Granted it was some punk kid, but........

Needless to say I didn't buy  the lights there........

so, I'm just not gonna talk about trains to anyone anymore, and when i need materials, i'm just gonna lie about what I'm really doing with it.

I'm 35 years old, and things like this shouldn't bother me, but I really felt embarrassed and belittled.
