Just another question about being able to tell the future. Would anyone have an idea when the new WTIU will be available to buy????? Thank you

I've consulted my crystal ball, but as you can see, it's cloudy.

That made my weekend!!!!! Lol very funny.
Bigger question, if the WTIU is ready- where is this new app that was promised..........
Maybe ask John to look into his crystal ball??? Lol
I heard its “on the water”. …. That means probably a few months. Throw in that my source is not reliable… so add a few more months…
On the water or in the water?

Would you be surprised at this point?
And if it does finally appear, how buggy will it be and how will it take to work out the bugs?
Ditto for Lionel’s Base 3.
From what I am reading, the WTIU "may" out soon. Question: With the WTIU having wifi capabilites, will STAR wiring still be required to prevent power drops around a layout? Mine layout is 12 X 8.
Thank you !

Bus or star wiring and power distribution is required because rails and track joints have resistance. We use copper wire with low resistance to distribute power and avoid dead track spots from bad joints carrying current to the train. Again, you use star or bus wiring to distribute power to the train, because our track systems of typically short pieces of track, connected together with pins or track joiners that can loosen, along with the linear resistance of the rails being a metal other than copper is why we need distributed power. It has nothing to do with DCS or the control system.
WIFI is how you send a command from your 3rd party phone or tablet to the WTIU. It has nothing to do with your train, your train is not wifi, nor does it get power wirelessly.
My dealer indicates that he has been told late February 2024.

Thank you for the clarification !!! Appreciate it !!!

The caveat with these estimates, however, is "But don't hold your breath."

Actually, the choice between bus and star wiring indeed does have to do with the DCS signal!

No big buzz or rumors of an imminent release came out of York? If this thing was close, you'd have to think people would have been talking it up at York. Maybe they did and I just missed it.
