This is my personal layout I created for AnyRail is simple but not as much space and have to buy in Brazil is expensive, I am using rails Lionel Fastrack, because I got a good lot here in Brazil for a great price and the system will be in convecional initiation and futuramnete step to digital.
If someone have a suggestion, feel free, because I'll just start the assembly in November.

Looks good. Nice use of space without overcrowding. Are there walls along the top and ends or is it open all around?

I would move the crossovers farther apart so you could use it as a passing siding, add a second pair of crossovers on the other side.

Or move the right crossover right beyond the yellow yard switch and the left crossover around to the other side beyond the switch for that single siding.

I'm new in this, and I also have difficulties with English, I apologize!

Well, I am sending a new layout that I did this weekend, take this opportunity to send in jpeg format and AnyRail, feel free to change opinions or even (if the AnyRail), because I think I still take three weeks to start building the base and as you all have more experience, may even have an idea nicer but I would continuarcom the movement of two compositions, for a start I will use the conventional system and the digital future.

here's some things to think about. looking at the room and cabinets. You have a sharpe corner edge on the cabinet in the far back right corner and this corner has a very LONG reach to get to the back. What are the sizes of your corners? 072 or what? Plan of the room shows cabinets all along the right wall but your plan does not show any track. now the big thing, I don't see any reverse so you will end up with your trains all running in one direction. Next, look at your yellow track. that is a very long back up around a corner, I see derails.

Gary, how long is this is a problem, but do not really know how to change, you're not the first thing I notice, but do not know what to do with it! I have a good amount of curve 036, therefore I am doing with all those 036, some compositions not know that I can use, but that's okay, because my space is small and it was a fight to get it with my wife! !.
Ok now to the reversal of the direction of the compositions Nor do I know. Finally you think the yellow on the right track can derail happen, why?

All go back onto AnyRails website as they also have some good idea's. look at all scales.

Also look at your right wall area. you will not be able to fix derails. as to backing up around on 036 corner, thats one of the best way's I know of to have a derail.

Here is a plan to give you some idea about reversing loops. this plan allows you to have your mtn on the right wall and a passenger termianl between the two track in front of the mountain. your have space for a small village on the side of the mountain or in the right hand near corner. it looked like to me you have approx 17.5 feet along the back wall so this plan can be lengtened.

do you have a local hobby shop? anywhere that you can buy books on model railroads. I would suggest you get a copy of The Lionel Train Book by Robert Schleicher. If there isn't someplace close to get it try any of the internet stores like Trainz, Trainworld, Grand Central LTD, Wholesale Trains,Legacy Station and there are a whole bunch more. Personally I'm not sure with my layout, because after looking at thousands of layouts here at the forum, in the book of Lionel Fastrack among others, had concluded that a trend of my old HO layout, as there was a digital system and create different sections I saw and most circuits are practically at one section.
As we now have this wonderful system where there must have independent sections for circurlar various compositions at the same time that my layout will be ready to receive a digital system in the future or is it better now investing in digital logo initiation?

Leandro,

Nice start with the framework.

A simple suggestion that you might want to consider for your plan:

On the left side, front, you could substitute O48 curves for the O36 on the "blue line". This would take 6 of the O48 30° curves for the 4 O36 45° curves that you have now. The bigger, sweeping, turn looks dramatic; and it keeps the yellow tracks and the blue tracks parallel through the turn.

If you like that, you could also substitute just the "inside turn" yellow tracks with O48 for the same effect.

Are you in RJ or SP (or other)?

But already use 036 turns, I managed a lot of great tracks FASTRACK and ends left over 036 curves, this was one of the reasons I just used curves 036, I know I will not be able to run with some types of locomotives.

I'll send the file to anyrail and if you want to see is low only the demo version.

Hello, everyone!

After 3 months I'm putting my update finished yesterday after the arrival of a pair of switches managed to finish the reversal and it is very cool and I thank Gary (Dragon Man) for your help!
Now if three switches to complete the tracks, but now will take a while because the cost of buying more taxes in Brazil is expensive, too bad, but come on it easy!
I'm running it with the conventional system at the moment but in the near future will be in digital!

Well I hope you enjoyed it, because with the thousands of post `s what you have in OGR collaborate with each track.

Hello, everyone!

As some of you saw, I was just missing the Parking and as always wanted to have a turntable made ​​a new layout, so let's opinion of you.

I'm using an Atlas Turntable with FASTRACK rails and need to know if this is possible, because I remember I read somewhere that may, but need confirmation!

Hello,

At the end of last week got my turntable Atlas, with the help of my father to adapt the Fastrack, managed to put into operation and I am very happy with the result, of course
lack some adjustments but I always had the dream of having a turntable on my layout.

Now I'm having a doubt, when I'm operating on the analog system, but
I will migrate to digital, so in the digital tracks in a garage may
stick to energy or also need to put keys on and off?

I'm impressed with what you've done. Nice use of space and the trackplan is fun. I especially like how you created the gradual elevation with the retun to ground however I have one question or concern. Do you intend to use anything else to support the elevated track other than the risers which for the most part are spaced the the track joints? A riser at each joint may be okay for the straight sections but in photo #3 there are curves that do not have any support in the middle. In my experience on the curve the force of the train moving causes a weight shift to the outside of the curved track, if there is no support in the middle of the curved track the this force and weight will tip the track downward and increases the possibility that the train will simply fall off the track. I think it has to do with the laws of physics. The underlying road bed may be stiff enough but I thought I'd ask. This may not be an issue at all if you already have plans to support them. Anyway, other than it looks great and I can't wait to see your progress.

Leandro,

I use DCS, not Legacy, so what I am about to say may not be applicable.

Being able to turn on and off tracks that are used for storing locomotives, or even cars if these are lighted, has several advantages, the first of which is saving power. With DCS locomotives, it also keeps the odometer from advancing. Also, as has been posted as well, it prevents an engine from starting up on its own due to a signal malfunction, as has been known to happen.

The only disadvantage I can think of is the additional wiring required.

Whether the tracks around your turntable could be powered on-off automatically, such as powering the track that is aligned with the turntable, would probably not be a good idea unless there were a timing delay mechanism; otherwise, all the tracks would be turning on and off when the turntable rotates and goes by them.

Hopefully, someone who uses Legacy and has a roundhouse will chime in.

I am impressed with all that I have seen so far Leandro especially as I hope to soon be able to build my own permanent layout. I can learn from your example, your work is neat and the control panel is just how I would like mine with those switches all in a row like a real signal box.

The layout seems to work well and the quality of FasTrack is evident from the speed with which the train can take those crossings without derailing. I always enjoy watching posts when people start from scratch and continually add to provide us with a continuous story of their development.
