Brian,

K-Line offered several generations of F3's (at least two).  Do you have the Product No. available, off the box for your set?  It would help immensely.

If not, perhaps you could give us the road name and cab numbers, or even post a photo or two.

Mike

Your set appears to be K-Line Product No. K-25901.

Most TMCC-equipped engines from the same timeframe as yours have the same basic set of circuit boards inside, regardless of which manufacturer made the engine.  There are differences however, like the unique cruise control setup found inside many K-Line units.

When it comes to resetting though we can consider them largely the same and, because your issue does not appear to be with cruise, the following should help:

Which reprogramming code to use?

I would try "6", to start because it's seems to be the closest to your situation.

By the way, this list has evolved over time with more codes added as time has gone on and has software versions have been introduced.  There may be K-Line-specific ones listed on later editions.

Although it rambles quite a bit see this thread about the search for codes, including those specifically for some K-Line units:

Another round of reset codes for R2LCs (11/21/13) | GGG

Finally, if you get stuck it may be necessary to take the shell off the powered unit, find the radio board inside (it should be an R2LC type), and note the software revision level printed on the sticker on it.  You'll find rev levels discussed in the thread.  They're in the form of "C-xx"; such as C-09, C-13, etc.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Mike
