MY QUESTION TODAY IS BEING POSTED OUT OF CURIOSITY. IN MY FUTURE PLANS I HAVE MAPPED OUT RUNNING TRACK ON A ELEVATED SUBWAY TRESTLE AND ON A WOODEN TRESTLE ALSO. I WANTED TO PUT DOWN TRACK ON THESE TWO TRESTLES THAT WOULD NOT HAVE THE FASTRACK ROADBED ON THEM. I WANTED TO KEEP THE LOOK AS PROTOTYPICAL AS POSSIBLE. DOES FASTRACK CONVERT TO SCALETRACK, ATLAS O, REALTRAX, GARGRAVES etc.?

I believe you can buy fastrack with removable ballast or you can just saw it off

FasTrack roadbed can be removed outside the ties, but it remains inside. For a realistic look, use track without roadbed. Lots of people like GarGraves, so I'll recommend it.
Lionel makes a transition piece that allows connection to other track. One end fits fastrack and the other fits old tubular track, while the other manufacturers make a transaction or adapter track where one end fits their track and the other ends fits old tubular. So a piece from each manufacturer fit back to back will make the connection between the two. Hope this is what you were looking for.
Atlas makes a similar connector. It connects to the Atlas track on one end with standard Atlas track connecters, and on the other end it would connect to the MTH adapter track with the hollow rail end. As gunrunnerjohn says, you would need to shim the Atlas track to reach the same height as the MTH.
I have six new-in-box FasTrack transition pieces on the For Sale Forum right now for $5 each plus shipping. Use the pins Gunrunnerjohn was talking about and you can hook up just about any type of track.
