100 watts is plenty if you have feeders every 5-6 feet. I suspect you are experiencing Blue Tooth failure because of its distance limitations.

For Blue Tooth operation, I believe 18 volts.

You already have more watts than a CW80. The RailKing  Z1000 should be fine.

4) Will the Base3 make my experience better? I understand that I could run it with the Base3 app. I understand my train will have more features.

……with Blue Tooth……not sure if that increases the range. Others may know better. I’m not sure anyone will know until the release version gets here.

The BASE3 should greatly improve the range of BT since that 2022 locomotive should also have the longer range BT capability.

That looks like it is a legacy engine. If so, then Base3 will talk to it via the Legacy connectivity rather than Bluetooth I assume, which may work better given the limitations bluetooth can have.

So... when is the Base3 going to be available? Any ideas?
