I have the LCS WiFi Module, 6-81325, and the LCS DB9 Cable with Power Supply, 681499 on order.  I'm going to download the LCS app into my new iPad today (but not the latest update) to start learning its functions.  I've been looking at the WiFi module and cable pictured in the web catalog and I'm not sure how it will attached to my electrical/control set up.  Since the LCS DB9 Cable will be attached after my signal booster and data driver, will I still have access to the data (red) and comm (green) wires needed to drive my TPCs/AVC/ASCs?

Attached is the schematic of my system with the LCS WiFi module pictured.  Where does it go?  Thanks.

Ron

CAPPilot,

You must connect the DB-9 w/ power supply directly to the Legacy base, only the Lionel "Y" cable is an exception if you link to a BASE1.   The baud rate is kicked way up on the Legacy Base serial port, and any devices in between are unsupported configurations.

The SER2 will bridge back to the configuration you have in your diagram to the Data-Driver.  I don't know if the Serial booster you have is required or compatible with the LCS cabling.  You can have multiple SER2 boards in an LCS environment, so you can distribute the drive level requirements where needed.

The SER2 will be the first LCS module to arrive to inventory, the WiFi shortly thereafter.   The SER2 is needed for a bridge to DCS, and to allow advanced Legacy commands to be available on the DB-9.  Since the drive level is similar to the BASE1, and BASE1-L, no other boosters should be required.

Can one use the 'bluetrain' app?

Bluetrain works with the LCS WiFi !

Excellent! Next purchase - but first I need to figure out how to use Rossplates and DZ-1000 on the floor with non-derailing. Not as easy as I hoped
