3 TRAINS WITH DOUBLE REVERSE LOOPS                          I  went ahead and added the switches to have operational value, also as suggested - reverse loops too.

The track is laid, everything went down pretty good.  I have a mess of wires from the controllers on the table, but |I digress...

I have one MTH Z4000 for my power needs.  The wiring needs to be run still - planning on running a bus wire. 

Question - IF I wanted to run conventional - do I need to run wires into 'power circuits'

Where would I put the circuits?  How do you choose what part of the track to say 'this is where I want my circuit'

Does the wiring change IF I want to run my 3 Lionchief locomotives?  Or do I put one of the terminal tracks somewhere on the layout, one per each and plug the walwarts into the wall.

Question; How much more diffcult is the wiring if I want to run both conventional AND Lionchief?

Bus Wiring:  One black wire - common ground, then 3 others colours for each loop.  Attach feeders accordingly.  

If I was to run conventional, I think... this is where need the power circuit blocks... 

If only command control, then I run the bus wiring as described. - Is this correct?

The layout has stayed like this for weeks only because I am really unsure how to move forward.

I really want to use the switches... and not just run 3 loops...  

What else is there?

I would suggest three independent running loops = 3 power districts. Cut the continuity between districts at the switches. Sounds like you are running fastrack but I wouldn't use terminal sections or those wall warts for this layout as they are weak. The lionchief stuff will easily run on any source of AC and as long as you have three sources of variable voltage supplies or a DCS TIU/Powermaster you can run the conventional stuff without issue as well.

Place insulating pins in the center rail where the red marks are. This will separate your three loops for conventional running. Hook up each loop to a different throttle on your transformer.

If you only want to run one train, it doesn't really matter, but I would wire this layout so each loop could have independent control.

If you want to run command, just turn those throttles up to full. You could still run your non-command equipped engines on their own loops with this scheme simultaneously. You will have to remove any conventional only engines from the layout if you need to run command, say crossing from either outer loop to the innermost to reverse. Adding an isolation track along the bottom of this plan, could really come in handy.

Yes, you remove the jumper wire on 1 3/8 piece to turn it into an isolating section. You can also cut the wire in half and splice in a switch to this piece if you wanted to control power on a stub siding.

You've got three loops and two throttles on the Z4000. What's the plan for powering the third loop?
