How I colored my ties..videos

Looks good.   I dont think you talk too much, not compared to my wife...she talks A LOT.

Thanks Chris.  I'll use this approach for other wood projects as well. Did you ever try "distressing" the wood with a wire brush or razor saw between coats? One of you ties looked cracked on top, and I thought that was a nice touch

Wow!  You could really make a "how-to" DVD for each step of your railroad...  I think you have all the qualities of a mainstream TV DIY host, and the running commentaries about industrial track / sidings / low use rail bed really makes it worth while!

John, yes on some of the ties I used a wire brush or razor.  On some I took a bolt and ran it across in various directions.
