I want the set . But , there must be enough sets ordered , otherwise they will cancel like the New Haven set two years back .
The set is posted on Page 90 of the new Lionel Catalog .
I plan on buying the extra Boxcar as well !

How about a Scooby Snack covered hopper?
That is a great idea for a add on train car .
I have almost convinced myself to order this set and extra boxcar. I definitely like the idea of Lionel using actual Scooby cartoon voice actors.
I find it hilarious. And brilliant on Lionel's part. Scooby Doo was enjoyed by not only myself, but dozens of kids from the 60's. Although, they should make more O gauge Thomas and Friends in my opinion. We almost had Mavis and she was canceled. I think they're might be enough demand for the rest of the steam team. Maybe we'll get them after we get some more AFOT's.(My personal acronym for Adult Fans of Thomas. XD)
Big Scooby fan here...but they seem to have pasted the "Thomas" description
under the Locomotive specs refers to "Chuffing steam". Anybody else notice that? I will post my
Mystery Machine made out of Lego parts adapted on to E-Z Streets frame.

Not on my version of the Big Book which it's the online version. They must have fixed it there, but the physical catalog might be misprinted.
We have preorders already for some.
Here is the link from the Lionel website. I wonder if the set will ever available without T/T ?

That's funny.
Waiting for The Jetsons set. The horn will be the Jetsons doorbell.
I'd love to see a Hanna Barbera themed train, since most kids today don't even know who half of them are, especially since boomerang went south. Maybe a Yogi Bear train, with boxcars/other cars relating to HB characters? I don't know. I just think it's a shame that so many great classic characters aren't being used/aired anymore, maybe an HB reboot is needed.
I'd like to see a Yogi Bear and Boo Boo handcar, and a George Jetson and Astro handcar, but doubt Lionel sees the value. IMHO, catering to hobbyists who want scale realism blinds Lionel to what appeals to the general public.
I would like to see a Flintstones set.
HB has lots of great characters that appeal to "kids" of all ages
Thanks, Phil
If i see that animated gondola available from a set break up I will be all over it!
I'm in the same boat. I just want the animated gondola.

Scooby had a base in Astro. That was Final JEOPARDY answer.
How bout a MUNSTER set for Halloween?
Yes!With the Dragula and Munster Coach on flat cars!
Surely they'll see the value in having the animated gondola as a separate item...
And next up - Space Ghost!
How about Jonny Quest?

Already been done by Hot Wheels in 1:43, except it’s a static model.
I like that Mystery Machine FT. It'd look good pulling a string of some AEC tankcars/boxcars, or Area 51 cars. Or maybe create a X-Files train.
It would look good running through the LEMAX Halloween style amusement park buildings!
(monster mask for Old Man Smithers sold separately)
i want it that and the tier 4 set and EOTL halloween set
All you need is that mystery machine on a flatbed, a Scooby snacks gondola and the "I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for you medeling kids" audio.

Seems like selling the gondola as a separate item would be a smart move. Would love to have it, but not going to buy the whole set to get it.
I'm gonna probably pass on it. I have other priorities right now, and I'm waiting on the re-release of the Thomas set with Bluetooth. I'm hoping they get his whistle right this time and not that ugly sounding one. If not I'll cave and buy the previous non-Bluetooth version. I already have Annie and Clarabel, so I don't need a whole new set if they don't change the whistle. I honestly don't know what to do. Better sounding whistle VS the extra money that the Bluetooth version costs which isn't worth it if there's not a new whistle...meh.
My local train store said they would have the catalog in a week. Went back the following week and got a catalog. As he handed it to me he said I needed to get my order in the next 3-4 days.
The catalog had been online online for a bit, but still...
When does Lionel actually pull the plug on something, and how many pending pre-orders do they need to justify a run. I suppose it's different for different items. That is one that might be worthy of an order just so they're not 1 order short of being a reality.
HI THERE
Thanks for looking at my post . I thought my post was done back in Feb .
I asked my dealer recently if the set was still going to be made . As far as he could tell , the set was still being made .
Have a fun Week !
