I can get nothing out of my cab L1 with base L1.So I gonna take it to the lionel store in conord nc.For what ever reason the remote is not sending the signal to the base.Or there is some thing wrong with the base it self.So I taking it back to the store.I also gonna take the locomotive to just in chase. So is this the right move?

I would find another engine first to test it with.
Lets look at this one step at a time.
1) make sure the cab one is connected correctly and plugged in. I have seen plugs come undone or power strip tripped off and you think on. Also make sure throttle on transformer is turned up to at least 14V
2) then I would check to see if when I hit the controller the base lights go on, if not 1st try putting new batteries in the hand held. ( I would anyway as sometimes you get the light to blink with low batteries but not enough to power the engine. )
3) If all above seems fine, try doing a reset with the engine. Sometimes you need to do a reset with the engine.

I will give it a try.Oh and thanks
I think I may need to clean the track.I not sure if that has anything to do with it.But I gonna try cleaning the track.I also gonna clean the pick up rollers on the locomotive.
