Their add and being added to the forum as a sponsor and their web site intrigued me to the point I sent them a message to price something I have in mind. I love to run trains but can not get past putting track down to run them to get to the décor part. I just want a 6x14 two main lines, small yard at the bottom end and two spurs on the upper left and lower right like someone else posted earlier.

I have decided to bite the bullet and try it myself. It won't look as good as it would from a professional but maybe I can learn as I go.
I've often wondering how much these services cost.
When I visit their websites they don't even offer a basic clue on the cost... Which basically tells me it is far beyond what I would/could pay.
It would still be nice to have an idea on the cost! I've often thought maybe I could "get some help" in areas that I'm not very good at. Also it would be nice to just get my layout benchwork done and the track down. Scenery can be done over the long haul. If I could just get trains up and running that would be a great hurdle to over come.

still no concrete figure but guestimate is about as much as a small car
For a "completed" layout from one of the professional builders: trackwork, wiring, control panel(s), structures with lights and finished scenery
you can figure on about
(gulp)
$350 per square foot.
Don't forget to add in size of the layout, the bigger it is the more it would cost per hour/foot. Travel time and expense + shipping costs to your place to set it up and test it. Plus meals and lodging, while away, if needed. In my case you'd go broke in pizza costs. Plus, maybe, special considerations like going up and down steps and resizing either the layout or doorways to get it in.
So, you better make that a BIG GULP.

one of the other sponsors says 250 per foot on their site. so a 6x14 layout is 84 sq ft. 250 per ft is 21k.
