When My good friend announced he was making laser cut O scale Cat Bridges following the North Shore Line Design along the Skokie Swift line I was looking for a reason To purchase some. On the Home layout their was no room to add another line and I needed to place to display my North Shore Models. What I have decided so far The display will be built on two smooth hollow core doors maybe with folding legs (I have not decided on a height yet, the Free-mo spec of 50" seems like a good height to work on and to look at the models) I have purchased 3 of the MTH High Voltage transmission towers as on a portion of the Skokie Valley Line it was built alongside of a power line, in-fact the Cat bridges were attached to the power lines (their was a standard cat bridge between the ones connected to the transmission tower). I have helped my friend re-design his product to attach to the MTH product and should have them next weekend. I also have on order from him another new product he has announced a NSL passenger waiting shelter to go by a depot I am working on that was along the line. The only thing I have not decided is if I will use 2-rail or 3-rail track, I am leaning towards 2 rail since this is a display and I am not planning on running on the display. This will be a nice ongoing summer project to build the benches

Now for a basic over view of the scene I want to set, The Skokie Valley Route, a high speed stretch of track to allow the liners to stretch its feet. will probably be loosely based off the Briergate stop, why that stop one would say, that depot still stands and I think it will be an interesting area.

Growing up I lived a couple of blocks from the Mundelein station...part of daily life ....that shelter was atypical and resembles the one at the Perpetual Adoration flag stop scene of many a photo on the branch. Ill be buying one.
he will be also offering the Mundelein depot in HO scale latter this summer, send him an email on his website for info on the shelter
well, not much progress, my shelter has not been built yet, cat towers will be ready soon, however I will need to make the base yet, so I took a side track from that project for a different one. I picked up a project Q-Car pup and started to give it some TLC.

Started building an HO scale shelter kit, not that bad of a kit. After I finish this I will start the planning of the O-scale Display. I have been gathering items for the display. and I will just need to figure out how wide I want to do the display, Right now I am leaning towards 30-36 inch in depth, Transmission towers and Cat towers will be mounted to the display base. and I will have to work on the cad files to have the depot lazer cut. with some 3-D printing columns.

well still gatering items for the display, I really wanted something to be started last fall. I have been working with my friend who owns a company that builds building kits. I did all of the rough cad layout for the North Shore Line Spanish Depot for him. Pictured is an O-scale and N scale of the same depot, I have to now make the 3-d cad masters for the spiral columns. This is the major structure I needed for the display.

I am also a big North Shore // South Shore// CA&E fan.. Many years ago I had a few NS "pups" in my collection. Sold them! That was stupid!
There is a well-known O-scale traction modeler in Cupertino, CA (SF Bay Area)..

the depot kits are almost ready.... they will be available from rindts rellics in ho scale and o scale.... after that kit is in my hand I will start the construction of the display.

Ken, there is a post over on MTJ just now mentioning that Alf Modine passed away a few weeks ago. There were some nice pictures of his layout and some of his traction equipment in the thread.
