I finally got my layout together and built it over a twin bed.  It just lays on a frame I built over the bed. Its 2 inch foam with carpeting on it.  Easy to remove when the bed is being used since it is lightweight.  See pic.  Just needed 2 lock on to get acceptable voltage.

Worked great, just needed to remove 2 half tracks to make it fit on the table for some reason.  Probably the difference in physical track and computer model.

Now to figure out how to run 2 trains without crashing.

A very creative use of space.  If you are wedded to the idea of 2 trains I would keep them short and build in a block that holds one while the other makes its way around and triggers the waiting train as it approaches the holding block.  There are too many crossings to have them operating at the same time without having a Gomez Adams moment.
